Extractor fan installation in South Croydon for bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms. We fit wall, ceiling and window fans, wired safely for the room, to clear steam and help prevent damp and mould.

Cooking, showers and drying clothes add a lot of moisture to the air. Without extraction it settles on cold walls and windows, leading to condensation, damp patches and black mould. A fan removes the moist air at the source, before it spreads through the home.
Bathrooms and kitchens need fans that move enough air for the room. Options include timer fans that run on after the light goes off, humidity sensing fans that switch on automatically and quiet inline fans hidden in the loft. We'll suggest the type that suits your room.
In a bathroom, the fan's position decides what type you need. Fans close to the bath or shower must have the right IP rating, and some positions need low voltage models. We also fit a fused isolator, so the fan can be switched off safely for cleaning or repairs.
We look at the room, where the fan can vent outside and how it will be switched. Venting through an outside wall is often simplest; otherwise ducting can run through the loft or ceiling void to a vent. Your free quote covers the ducting and the electrical work, and the fan if we supply it.
On the day, we cut the hole or run the ducting, fit and wire the fan and isolator, and seal around the vent so draughts and rain stay out. We test the fan and its timer or sensor before we leave, and make good any small areas we've disturbed.

Building regulations expect new or refitted bathrooms and kitchens to have mechanical extraction, and it's the most practical way to control condensation in any bathroom. A window that opens helps, but a fan clears steam much faster and works in winter too.
Yes. Noisy fans are often old, worn or clogged with dust. We can fit a quieter modern fan, usually in the same hole, and check that the ducting isn't kinked or too long, which can also cause noise and poor airflow.
As close to the cooker as possible, as that's where most steam and cooking smells come from. A cooker hood that vents outside is the most effective option. If that isn't possible, a wall or window fan near the hob is the next best choice.
Replacing an existing fan usually takes an hour or two. A new fan that needs a hole cutting through a wall or ducting through the loft can take half a day or so, depending on the wall and the route. We'll give you an idea when we quote.
