Video doorbell installation in South Croydon, with wired doorbells powered properly so they never need charging. We set up the app and chime, and position the camera for a clear view of visitors.

Battery doorbells are quick to fit but need recharging every few weeks or months. Wired doorbells are powered by a small transformer, so they stay on all the time, react faster and can record continuously on some models. We usually recommend wired for a front door that's used every day.
The doorbell should be at a height that shows faces clearly and, ideally, parcels left on the step. Angled mounts help if the door is set back or to one side. We also check the Wi-Fi signal at the door, as a weak signal is the main cause of laggy video.
A doorbell camera that picks up the street or next door's path is covered by data protection rules. Most doorbells let you mask parts of the picture and adjust motion zones, so you record your own doorstep without filming your neighbours.
Let us know which doorbell you have or would like, and whether you have an existing wired bell. We check whether a transformer is already there or needs adding, and test the Wi-Fi at the door. Your free quote covers the power supply, fitting and set-up.
On the day, we fit the transformer and doorbell, connect any existing chime or add a plug-in one, and set up the app on your phone. We adjust the motion zones and privacy masks with you, then test the video, alerts and two-way talk before we leave.
Call or send a message about the job. For urgent faults we aim to respond the same day, with no call-out charge.
An electrician comes out, checks the job and talks you through the options, then you get a free, no-obligation quote.
When the work is finished, we test everything we've worked on and hand over the right certificate for the job.
Yes. We fit most popular video doorbells, including ones you've bought online. Send us the model before the visit so we can check what power supply and fittings it needs, and whether your existing chime will work with it, so the job can be finished in one visit.
Some will. Many video doorbells can ring a traditional wired chime, though some need a small adapter fitted at the chime. If your chime isn't compatible, a plug-in chime that links to the doorbell is an easy alternative. We'll check during the visit and suggest the simplest option.
Often, yes, but in shared buildings you may need permission from the freeholder or managing agent, especially if the door opens onto a shared corridor. The camera should also be set up so it doesn't film other residents' doors. Ask us and we'll suggest a suitable option.
A weak signal causes slow video and missed alerts. A Wi-Fi extender or mesh point near the front of the house usually fixes it. In some cases, running a network cable to an access point nearby is the most reliable answer, and we can do that too.
